Recent Changes in HTML 5

Some recent changes have happened in HTML5 that might impact your work.

MAIN

<main> was introduced. “The main content area consists of content that is directly related to or expands upon the central topic of a document or central functionality of an application.” It’s not sectioning content, and has a default ARIA role of ‘main’. Read more

HGROUP

<hgroup> has been removed. If you’re using hgroup in your projects, now would be a good time to start switching that over to some other structure. “Include subheadings in h1 to h6 elements or use a p element. Headings and subheadings, alternative titles, or taglines can be grouped using the header or div elements.” Read more
